veni, vidi, vino.

This is nothing more than a random collection of my thoughts and ramblings, plus some things I find interesting... and now mainly a travelogue of my adventures in Florence.

I'm a film major and an art minor. I'm currently studying abroad in Florence, Italy. I love cake, baby animals, and awkward photos. Theater is my passion, film is my love, and photography is the whore I like to pimp out on a semi-regular basis.

So this picture is from when I went hiking in Fiesole, a town just outside the city. Which happened like a week and a half ago, but I never wrote about it and my blog has been lacking in pictures lately so TADA here it is!

But anyway, it’s 3:20 and I have a midterm at 9 am. I am currently writing the 9 journal entries I should have written all semester, and of course, didn’t. Then I have to study 5 of the families enough to write about them tomorrow, which shouldn’t take too long because that’s basically what my journal entries are about. Why am I doing it now? Well because I spent the rest of the day procrastinating taking pictures of myself for my self-portrait project for photo. And because I hate taking pictures of myself and it’s hard to get good ones when you don’t have a tripod, I now have 400 awful pictures of me on my computer. Yay?

So why am I writing right now? More procrastination, of course! And because it very recently hit me just how close break is. In 6 days I will be in Amsterdam with the lovely Karen Azani, and the day after that I will fly to Berlin to spend a week there with Ian. Basically, I’m excited because in comparison to the last seven weeks, the next seven (oh shit we’re halfway through!) are going to be amazing. Not that I’ve had a bad time, I most definitely haven’t, it’s just that I haven’t gotten to travel as much as I would like, and the weeks ahead of me are FULL of travel. Let’s see:

  • March 23-24: Amsterdam (with Karen!)
  • March 24-30: Berlin (with Ian! plus a sprinkling of Jordan)
  • April 3: Cinque Terre (while Ian is in Florence, I am super excited for this because Cinque Terre is supposed to be one of the most beautiful places in Italy and I was worried I wasn’t going to find time to go, and now not only am I going but I am going with him!)
  • April 8-11: Barcelona, Spain with Brendan and Ricky
  • April 24-25: Capri, Sorrento, and Pompeii (school trip, with some lovely people going)
  • May 1-2: St. Moritz, Switzerland (I’ve been already, but I love it) and the Como Lake (another school trip, with even more lovely people!)

But first, I must get through midterms. Fuck you, midterms, fuck you. But tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, and though my plans are not set in stone, I do know I am going to have a fantastic time. Somehow I will fit in studying for wine and food, which I actually am going to have to study for. Somehow…
