veni, vidi, vino.

This is nothing more than a random collection of my thoughts and ramblings, plus some things I find interesting... and now mainly a travelogue of my adventures in Florence.

I'm a film major and an art minor. I'm currently studying abroad in Florence, Italy. I love cake, baby animals, and awkward photos. Theater is my passion, film is my love, and photography is the whore I like to pimp out on a semi-regular basis.

It was a rainy day today in Florence.

Note to self: when grocery shopping in the rain at a store that is a [sunny] 10 minute walk from your apartment, splurging the extra 5 cents or so for a few more plastic bags is worth it when the trip back takes twice as long because it is raining and you bought too much food.

Tonight I made a change from bar/club hopping with the roommates to see live music with my friend Chris. First we went to BeBop Music Club, where it was power rock night. Not exactly my type of music, but I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Every Tuesday they have a Beatles cover band, and we are most definitely going back. Then we went to a little ristorante where we were told there was a swing band, but we definitely walked in on a burlesque show. We ordered gelato and a few minutes later the band came back on. I was getting a bit worried that all there was to do in Florence at night was go to crazy overcrowded clubs, so it was nice to see there’s something different! Clubs are fun, but every night? No thank you.

Tomorrow: Pisa.
